Members of Shawnee Lions club got to be among the first lucky folks to get a sneak preview of the extensive renovations done at the Shawnee YMCA which was heavily damaged in the tornado of April 19, 2023. Virtually every part of the building sustained some form of damage and a complete renovation was required, making the facility even more impressive than it was before. Thanks to Mike Jobe, CEO or Shawnee YMCA for giving us a personal tour of the facility. Grand opening celebration is April 6 and first day of regular business is April 8. Our city cannot wait to get back to using all the features the Y has to offer!
